NAD - Jet City JCA50H

Re: NAD - Jet City JCA50H

Or remove the front baffle and put the mesh rear baffle in the front. Much more Soldano looking.
More like check with the Jet City Amp factory. They have a bunch of factory custom stuff for those amps from mesh front baffles to factory mod kits that will really turn those into absolute fire breathers.
Bottom of the page here check ouy Amp Factory and Epic Mods in particular.

They don't really have a clean channel without modding. You can get the crunch channel to do sort-of-clean with the gain on 1 or 1.5, but it doesn't have a ton of headroom. IMO the crunch channel sounds like a MV JCM800 with just a touch more gain and more responsive tone controls.

Depends of which model on the cleans. I really like the cleans on my JCA 22H Custom but it doesn't have a ton of headroom. There are pretty simple mods that give these amps great cleans though through Jet City.
Pretty happy with my cleans here from my stock Jet City JCA 22H Custom. Also these amps have a really really good tube driven pedal friendly effects loop. As good as the loop on any of my Mesa Boogies or the Marshalls and Carvins I have owned.

Doug at JC sent me a new front baffle (same as comes with the 100H LTD). It arrived today and I promptly put it on.

Oh...I got this bad boy properly biased and it sounds incredible. I liked it when the bias was much colder (17.4) now at 40 it's just all kinds of Marshall sounding goodness (I only use the crunch channel...the overdrive channel is killer, I just have no need for that much gain).

Anyway...here's the amp now:

Sure enough, the day after I order a Mullard CV4004 to use to tame just a bit of brightness in mine, I play through it for an hour or so, and it sounds PERFECT without having changed anything. It really likes the front end to be pushed hard on the crunch channel, I’ve found, but that sweet spot really is sweet.

Here’s a clip of the amp after getting it properly properly biased. I’m using a humbucker loaded guitar (Gibson wax-potted Burstbucker Type 2) and I’m playing through the crunch channel:

Nice amount of mids, good definition on the low strings. Sounds like it would cut through a dense mix. Not too gainy, looks like a good fit for ya!
