1. Got to meet RiffRaff!
2. The new Vox AC30's are killer. Got to play one in a sound room. 999 street price for the 1x12 with the neo speaker in it. The 2x12 had Vox blues speakers in it, priced closer to 1500 I think. Still heavy mofo's. Lots of switchable options on the top and on the back. These are probably going to sell a zillion.
3. The Duncan Tweak Fuzz, great pedal from my limited time with it.
4. Vox has some new pedals out with 12AX7's in them. Looked pretty nice.
5. PRS has some new guitars out and the tops are wavy carved woods. Really cool look. Not enough difference in the mass of the wood involved to change the tone. Oh yeah, I now have a 2005 PRS price list for all the options and such if anyone needs that info.
6. I got to spend some time with those Michael Kelly import Korean jobs that we've seen on ebay for the last few years. Some of them were superb players. I was fairly shocked. They had some mandolins that have given me Mandolin GAS.
7. Godin had a bunch of cool stuff.
8. Fender has this really cool new little practice box. It has a rhythm section, a drum section and some guitar modeling built into a 15 watt 8" speaker practice amp size box. The guy demoing it had it sounding pretty good. There's inputs for it as well as a headphone jack output for letting you run it into a larger amp. Street price will probably be 250ish. Kinda like a little cyber amp with a bass line and drums, plus a loop so you can lay down some rhythm work to solo over. Extremely cool toy, not just for beginners. But, without a doubt, a very very cool beginners amp. Small too.
9. DTAR had a cool new product The Mama Bear. I'll have to read up on it, but it brought amplified acoustic tone TO LIFE! Wow! Richer, fuller, more dynamic. Serious acoustic box.
Lots of other stuff but cant' remember now . Very cool Bogner stuff, but nothing too new. Diezl had some cool amps out. Sounded GREAT.
Fender also had some strats and such with extremely cool paint jobs and I am uploading pics.
