Anybody know when the nazgul hits the shelves? I am joining a band that tunes to drop a. Perfect time to dust off the old 7

Re: nazgul realease date?

These - and all the other new 7 & 8-string models - were supposed to have been relleased on Monday or Tuesday, and online retailers should start selling them by today. This is what was told to me from Mr. Scott Olsen earlier this week...

Re: nazgul realease date?

saw Scott and MJ and Boomer today. next week is what I was told.

I sent Scott a PM last Friday inquiring about when the new stuff would be avilable, because I will most likely order a set of the Distortion 7's with the black metal covers and black poles before the passive sized EMG's come out. Scott told me that they started shipping on Monday.

Good to know that nobody can get a strait and honest answer from anybody regarding anything from SD... Not surprised or impressed with this news, coming from the SD group.

Makes me wonder if I should still just wait for the passive sized EMG's before even bothering trying to order the metal covered Distortion 7's... At least I know EMG's release dates are solid and confirmed, and it's only about a week left to go before my order goes in for them, IF that...

If what darth was saying is correct, then what I was told was blatantly lying to me. They were supposed to be shipping on Monday. Now if they have or not is another story, and out of all of our hands all together. Either way, I've made contact with a dealer to find out when I can get them, because it's one of the two sets of pickups going in my AW-7.

But with the way things are looking, the EMG's still look like they'll be going in the guitar first. At this point, I get the new metal covered Distortion 7's when I get them. I'll just have another pickguard made for it so one has the actives, and the other has passives. And the custom rewinds that are currently in it are working wonders for the time being, so I'm in no real rush for either the new DD7's or the new EMG 81-7H & 60-7H.

Asked Boomer about this again today, he told me again this next Monday. 2 days from now. I didn't make up that date and know nothing about anything for last Monday. He was there in front of me and I'm interested in the Pegasus and Nazgul, so I asked. Then I saw this thread and thought I would share the info I was told. Who knows, maybe someone at Duncan got their wires crossed. If its only a weeks difference it's not the end of the world...I just got an item today that I ordered that was supposed to have been released 6 months ago (nothing guitar or pickup related)...so I'd welcome a simple week. lol!

Re: nazgul realease date?

There ended up being a slight delay and they shipped last week but they are now showing up in stores. Just saw them on Gearhounds and expect they are coming up in local stores now too.

That's a bit rough. You've sent me lots of messages and I always take the time to answer them. Sorry for the delay but we wanted to make sure everything was just right and ready to go. It's a lot of options, open coil, covers, soapbar.

Your right, and I'm sorry. It was uncalled for. But you have to realize that YOU started putting all this out there in late November saying that all this new stuff was coming out around NAMM time originally. Then when trying to find out when it was actually available, a lot of us - myself included - were kept in the dark about it. I don't blame you and everyone else for wanting the end result to be right and perfect, but all we the public ask for is to be honest about when the stuff is actually coming out. Don't tell one person one thing, then turn around and tell someone else something different... That seems kinda shady to some people.

Though it may have seemed like I was in a rush to get the new stuff, I was actually just wanting to know basic information and release time for it all. Can you or anyone else blame a guy for wanting to know when YOU of all people have been hyping the living sh*t out of it since November? And when I - and I'm sure others have asked as well - we were all basically left wondering and waiting.

It's actually a good thing that I waited, because other more important priorities have come up, such as getting tires put on my car. So for me at least, I should be able to order a few sets within the next few weeks. I have already gotten a price on the black metal covered and black pole'd Distortion 7's for my AW-7, and I'm also considering a Nazgul 7, Pegasus 7 and that Shop Floor Custom SSL-6 for my Stephen Carpenter soon fter that.

So I again appologize, and I also want to thank you for being THE ONLY one @ SD who has gotten back to me regarding product inquires and information.

Man, 'blatantly lying' is just wrong...stuff happens, and the music biz is no exception. Do you go writing letters to Bill Gates about his 'blatant lying' when a Windows release is pushed back?

Decaf, my friend, decaf.

I know, and understand that things happen. And As for the Windows/Bill Gates thing, no. I am content with running a much older version of Windows until I buy myself a new PC, which will wind up being a Mac since my Windows system can't handle the music software I use and run.

And I honestly think it's the lack of coffee that's causing it... I notice that I function much different when I have coffee in me.
