ok so I rented it but I think I'm goanna buy it just from a few hours of playing it...

it plays amazingly and just feels right. The low notes have that chunky rattly baritone sound and everything from Stoner rock to blues rock sounds awesome on it. It is 450 used which is a good deal I think for a MIJ Fender with upgraded pots, knobs and bridge humbucker.

anyone have any more info on this Baritone like the year etc ?

here is a pic I took on my phone

Also does anyone know if its safe to play this decently loud with fuzz on a 1x12 Traynor YGL2 combo with Celestion Vintage 30 speaker ? I don't want to ruin this speaker its broken in and sounds great... I also use my Traynor YBA-2b 1976 tube bass combo but its not as good as the YGL2 1x12 at taking pedals

thanks!

Awesome guitar. It's safe to play through a regular guitar amp. If you play through your bass amp, you may have to tweak to EQ a bit to get a desirable sound.

Check out Bass Distortion pedals. Some of these only apply overdrive to the higher frequencies, leaving the low end clean and clear to give definition. Ashdown does a signature model for somebody whose name escapes me. There is now a Billy Sheehan bass distortion pedal that does the same sort of thing.

cool I will look into it because I noticed the only distortion pedal I own that sounds good with my bass is the bad monkey and hardwire sc-2... the baritone actually sounds very good with my Catalinbread SFT but with my Wren and cuff Russian muff clone it sounds very muddy

thanks ! I was not sure I needed a baritone but after just a day with it I can tell I would use it a lot to make songs... Think its a keeper!
