So a few months ago I was at Guitar Center here in Vegas and saw a LTD RB-1004 Rocco Prestia (Tower of Power) signature for $574 on clearance from $1250. At the time my wife said I couldn't get it since she was pregnant with our first kid and didn't know how finances were gonna be. And I was pretty bummed. So here we are today a week after the baby was born and its my wife's birthday. This morning she asks if we can go to that part of town for her. I decided to stop by the GC and have a look around and there it was... after all this time no one bought it so I asked if I could get it and she said yes (she wasn't happy since it was her birthday and all) so here it is!

Swamp ash body
Burl maple top
5pc maple/walnut neck
Aguilar pickups
Aguilar 2 band preamp
Grover tuners
Gotoh bridge

All for just $574!

Needless to say I'm happy.

Re: NBD

That is a very cool and interesting-looking bass. Congrats! (and for the baby too)

Re: NBD

Cool!!! So it was your wife birthday and you got a new bass? Prepare yourself for your next birthday.

Re: NBD

Rocco Prestia what an awesome bass player, cool bass, nice score!

Yeah hes a hell of a bassist and super influential in finger style funk. Humorously back in high school i got roped into playing bass for the jazz band because i brought a bass to guitar workshop one day and the current bassist was graduating, they played alot of funk tunes as crowd pleasers and What is Hip? was a staple, so it was one of the first songs i ever learned on bass, now i have his signature bass. Full circle i guess
