Well worn but intact Martin USA Mahogany DM. Sitting on the rack for almost nothing at a Pawn Shop covered in gunk and dust with green frets and rusted strings. Just got it cleaned up and restrung man does she ever ring out like a bell! Not pretty but is a GREAT player and sounds amazing!

Basket! I have one of those DMs. I paid rather more than you did. It is by no means the prettiest guitar that Martin builds but it does make the right sound.

LOL nope on the raiding vacation homes.
Seriously stuff finds ME why is the ? I firmly believe that I have been lead to give away a number of guitars amps and other pieces of gear to individuals or ministries over the years and the Lord has blessed me back.
I mean in the last year alone.

I too believe that good things follow good deeds

I, too, occasionly "donate" to worthwhile beginners and savants

it always makes way for new blessings

when you feel the calling to donate that PRS to some nice southern brethren
I will drive up to collect it

thank you :outahere:

Re: NDG Pawn Shop MARTIN

I walked into a pawn shop in Montreal years ago and saw a Hiwatt 50 watt bulldog for $395. I instantly asked them what they wanted for a deposit, since payday was two days away - so I left the deposit and walked away chuckling to myself. The very next day the new issue of Guitar Player came out with an article about a 50 watt combo 'shoot-out'. One of the amps they reviewed was a Hiwatt bulldog re-issue, retailing at almost $3000. I got a phone call from the pawn shop that afternoon, telling me I had until the end of the day to cough up the rest of the money (I didn't have to ask why since I'd already seen the magazine). Luckily a friend was nice enough to loan me the balance, so I walked in there not even half an hour later and told the boys to "wrap it up".
The amp turned out to be from 1980, which was the last year they were manufactured by Hylight electronics, and still had the original white Fane speaker. It sounds AWESOME, and I've tried to keep an emergency fund ready ever since in case another deal like that crosses my path ...
