Agreed! I just love wood grain. Do you have any other warmoth builds right now, or just the lp? Could you link me to it and any others actually? I love checking out cool warmoth builds. Thanks dude!

Right now I have the LP (Regal body) that should be getting done with the finishing stage and close to shipping any day now as it has been about 8 weeks since placing the order. Like I've mentioned before, it will be a transparent blue finish on a swamp ash Regal. It should look similar to this:

I've got this project waiting for me back home in Minnesota. It's a one piece swamp ash Warmoth body with a bocote 59 roundback Warmoth neck. If I were to win a certain pair of '78's I would definitely shift my gears to get her over here so I could complete it:

And, of course, I have my completed Warmoths.

And my bass. 1 piece swamp ash solid body, quilted maple top, bubinga neck/ziricote fretboard:

I love Warmoth for sure. They do great work and I love seeing other people's Warmoths too. One of the guys who I made music with for nearly a decade showed me Warmoth back in 2006 or so. He ordered one shortly after that and I was impressed so I started ordering from them in 2007 and ever since then.

Also, if you don't mind a couple more quick questions, what is the name of the color on the lp? and is that natural wear on the finish?

It's olive green. I gave it 3 coats of a water based olive green wood stain on the front and 2 coats on the sides and back. Then I gave it two thin coats of satin finish. I never buffed it out either. What you see is the result of 7 years of heavy use on such a thin finish. I really like the vintage, worn look on that guitar, we've been through a lot of recording, gigs, practices and traveling together. I have played that guitar for about 3 to 5 hours a day for the past 7 years.

It's olive green. I gave it 3 coats of a water based olive green wood stain on the front and 2 coats on the sides and back. Then I gave it two thin coats of satin finish. I never buffed it out either. What you see is the result of 7 years of heavy use on such a thin finish. I really like the vintage, worn look on that guitar, we've been through a lot of recording, gigs, practices and traveling together. I have played that guitar for about 3 to 5 hours a day for the past 7 years.

3-5 hours a day for 7 years. Super impressive. A true companion, huh? Right on man, sounds like you've found what many people are looking for with that Les Paul. Cheers

Was the white a mistake? I'm uncertain now that it's in person. The neck humbucker has been ordered white too, but I might be able to opt black if I do it quickly enough. Opinions? Thanks guys!

I am seriously considering a roasted maple neck for my swamp ash regal now. Maybe even quartersawn. All this roasted maple talk gave me GAS

Still waiting for the neck HB, but got everything else together. Sorry, I'm about to make the GAS worse...

The roasted neck came from Warmoth already straight as an arrow. I literally put the guitar together, set up the bridge, and it was already playing better than any other guitar I've touched in my life. The earvana-cut tusq nut also makes it have the best intonation of any guitar I've played too. the lack of finish feels so good, it allows me to forget that I'm holding a guitar and just get lost in the playing. I'm beside myself with how amazing this build has turned out.

One thing I will say, however, is that the roasted maple is super flipping hard. Feels like drilling into steel. Made installing the tuners a giant PITA :eek5:

So is wenge. Drilling the holes on my wenge neck was a big pain in the ass too. I just took it slow though and made it through it.

This is awesome news about the roasted maple neck for sure though, I think I will be ordering one soon!
