Neck humbucker for Pearly Gates bridge

I've just swapped the bridge pickup on my '99 Gibson Explorer: a 500t for a SD Pearly Gates. I'm really happy with the warmer tone I have. Step 2 is to swap the neck pickup which is currently the 498r. Should I get another PG or would the jazz perform well for a clean but warm sound on the neck?

The PG neck is a wonderful match to the PG bridge and "clean but warm" describes it well!

The PG will be warmer than the Jazz, indeed.

Re: Neck humbucker for Pearly Gates bridge

yeah - why NOT a Pg neck is the question. PG neck is almost always a good answer.

Would a PGn and PGb work properly together in a 1VOL/1TONE Guitar?

Yes. They are balanced when together at the same volume level and set to appropriate heights (for example, using stock Gibson height settings, they are balanced IME).
