What would i use to fill in the old holes on a neck to install it on the body?

First I would put a pencil line on neck to show the location of body edge. Then I would make up 4 wooden dowels a little bigger then the holes, put some wood glue on them and pound them in. Let them stick out a little, let dry. Re-surface, (don't damage neck beyond the pencil line), then go ahead and transfer and drill in new holes.
