Neck pickup recomm for Gibson LP DC with JB

I'm considering replacing the 59 neck pickup on my Gibson LP DC to pair with my JB bridge (splittable). I need something more versatile, as my band covers everything from classic to modern rock to dance.

The 59 doesn't clean up as much as I would like. I currently have a Jazz in my LP Standard, which is great. Very articulate and great cleans.

Since the LP DC has one volume control, the pickup would have to have a similar output to the JB.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

the Jazz is the neck partner to the JB. when you install it mess with the pickup heights until the output matches between the neck and bridge pickup.

Try a Dimarzio Breed. It was designed to sound like a 50's humbucker on Steroids. It is so smooth and nice and fat but not muddy or thumpy at all. Very articulate too...

Jazz or Pearly Gates neck are great choices for neck rhythm. The APII and Seth are a bit darker sounding, and the 59N is a bit tubby on the lows. Those qualities are good for soloing, but can be a bit indistinct for clean rhythm playing.

It was made to sound like that in a thin-bodied Ibanez RG. I'd be careful putting one of these on any other guitar, especially a LP.
