Neck pickup recommended

Hi to all.

Definitely thinking of swapping the fishman fluence open core to Duncan's on my Socal Tele. Waiting the RTM for Bridge position. What do you suggest for neck? Alnico II, Jazz, or maybe something else?

Also what's your opinion about the RTM?

Welcome to the forum!

That is one cool guitar. I love the warm buttery tone of the Alnico II Pro, and it blends well with the RTM. Thing is, Duncan's mounting tabs are square, and might have to be modified to fit on your guitar. Lots of people have done this, and Duncan themselves have done this for customers.

What's the body wood? If it were me, I would consider the '78 Model as a neck, or a Pearly Gates neck, or Jazz neck.

Cheers! The fishmans are good but have an inherent peak in the upper mid register that I truly hate. Love the JB on my San Dimas Charvel.

If the RTM sounds good in the bridge, I'd try a Jazz in the neck. If the Jazz doesn't sound good in the neck, an inexpensive magnet swap to A2 is effectively an Alnico II Pro. I'd expect one of those to work.
