The SSL-3 quarter pounder for strat is what I was referring to. Although I'd recommend that you get the tapped version which is surprisingly versatile and sounds like a low output single or full bore distortion machine.

I make a lot of guitars and most of them have pretty hot P-90s with very little or no perceptible hum. I use the "advancements" of good grounding, insulation, and copper foil tape (or carbon paint).

i'm leaning towards the quater pound STR-3, any thoughts? i play around with elecronics so i get what your saying

just for clarity... ssl3 is the hot for strat, the stl3 is the qp tele lead. the ssl4 is the strat qp flat, ssl7 is the strat qp staggered

i cant imagine you cant get a ssl3 in black, its just the cover like any other typical strat pup
