Certainly the Ice Box. It does it well, and it is probably pretty cheap. More expensive is a Roland Dimension C pedal. It is sort of a chorus pedal with very little modulation, which really needs to be used in stereo to be heard properly. It is a very cool sound.

The TC Electronic has a really good Dimension C toneprint for it, and in general it can be tweaked to get that classic digital chorus vibe if needed.

I got a chance to try the new Keeley Electronics Dyna My Roto and I'm super impressed. It's aiming for more of the rackmount tri-chorus sound which is expansive and lush but also has that cold 'icyness' to it's upper end.

$30-50 seems pretty cheap in today's gear world. I remember it took me a while to sell mine.

I think we all agree:

Ice box = cheap
Dimension c = more expensive

FWIW Any is going to be a better chorus than your BD.

I ordered a CH-1 three days ago. It should be here tomorrow.

Re: Need a cold-sounding 80's-90's type chorus pedal

Noice, I dig my CH-1. Flip it over or open it up to see if its pre-2001

Re: Need a cold-sounding 80's-90's type chorus pedal

I own Dimension C, I bought it 3 months ago for less than $150.

So they're what they're designed to be - rather to use with your Kramer than with your 1964 ES-335 ;)
Just 80s hot clean licks space chorus/flanger with that extra glam atmosphere.

But rather flanger.

First button seems to be a little bit of CE-2. I use the others only to color my licks in parallel with Big Sky.

Less is more. 4 buttons seems to be good option for those who don't like pots.

BQ0XXXX dates to July 2002, so that CH-1 is digital.

All of your BOSS serial decoding questions answered here.

Re: Need a cold-sounding 80's-90's type chorus pedal

I was kind of hoping it would be digital. I already have an analog chorus that I like a lot.
