Need a cross between a G12H30 and Vintage 30.

I'm looking for a single speaker that is the exact middle of the spectrum between the G12H30 and Vintage 30 in terms of the highs and bass response. I want more bass than a stock vintage 30 and more highs than a stock G12H30 with the same midrange of the G12H30. I also need it to be 30 watts if possible (25 would be the minimum) and 8 ohms.

Help a tone seeking brother out will ya? :fingersx:

Those are my 2 favourite speakers also. Don't know if thats exist and if it does it will probably be a compromise of sorts. Thats why I loaded my cab with 2 of each.
I know this doesn't help much tho. Get a 2X12. One of each.

Maybe a Hellatone from Avatar? They're Celestions that have been broken in with an acetone treatment that gives a vintage 30 a deeper sound.

Un-doping-I believe. Yes, that will add a bit more flex to the cone and accentuate the lower freq.

Check out the Eminence Tonespotter.

I had an Eminence Wizard in my 1x12 and it is a great speaker. It replaced a Vintage 30 and I think will give you exactly what you're looking for.

I want a mix of the two but in ONE speaker. It's not a 2x12. It's a 1x12.

Wizard or tonespotter it is...

Thanks for the replies guys. Hope you all have excellent weekends full of hotties serving you cold beer and barbequed ribs.

Wixedmords - The 60L looks VERY promising. Like the concept quite a bit and I think it might be the perfect speaker for my little Marshall Studio 15. I wanted to wake up the bass response from this amp and smooth out the mids a bit and this seems like just the ticket as it's very close to the stock vintage 30 with the only differences in the speaker being the differences that I'm looking for. That IS the ticket right thar.

Thanks again to all that offered advice.

I am pretty interested in hearing one Gr8.

Keep us updated on how it turns out for you, whichever way you end up going.

Re: Need a cross between a G12H30 and Vintage 30.

I'm getting another 2x12 with the Hellatone 60Ls early next week. I've also got a 2x12 with the V30 and H30 combo in it. If you're interested I'll A/B the cabs and let you know how it sounds.

That would be great. I'll hang tight until I hear from you. If they roughly sound the same, that will be what I'm looking for. I want a speaker that sits smack in the middle tonewise.

Re: Need a cross between a G12H30 and Vintage 30.

Check out a Celestion G12k-100. I have two of them in my Earcandy cab adn love them. I'm running a Mesa 20/20 so I'm low wattage also. I have a Celes. g12H in my Marshall Artist and like it alot. The 12k has alot of the same character but a bit more of everything. They came (or still come) in the marshall mode four cabs. I have a 1960A cab and liked the 12t75s(i'm an 80's kind of guy) but wanted tighter bass and a little more mids. The 12k's delivered.
