Need Advice on "Dimebucker"-"SH4" Combo

I just got a new Dean ML and want to put a Dimebucker in it. However, I still want to have a good Clean sound too. I have been told that the SH4 is a good pickup to combine with the Dimebucker.

My question is, and forgive me I am a rookie, If I get the Dimebucker and the SH4, which pickup do I put in which position? I am not sure what the difference between neck and bridge are as they pertain to clean vs distortion. Should I put the Dime in the neck or Bridge? Thx for any help:)

I'm not expert, but I'd say dimbucker in bridge, jb in neck almost for certain.

Welcome to the forum!

both the dimebucker and the jb(sh4) are bridge pickups. Pretty high output bridge pickups I might add. If you want good cleans in the neck with a dimebucker in the bridge I would go for either a jazz(sh2) or a '59(sh1).

there are other people here that can help you out more if you give it some time.

again, welcome.

There's a few people that like the JB (SH4) in the neck. It's extremely fat, and sounds awesome split.
