Original Floyd, straight outta the 80's
Sometimes the little block will split from over-tightening, and that could be the problem. Pull it out, and eyeball it.
Will try to pull it all apart tomorrow and see if I can suss anything out. Hopefully, one of the more helpful local shops might be willing to help me with parts. I've had some good experiences dealing with Schaller directly before, but that was for something bigger than just a few screws. Will report back once results are in.
EDIT: Had a small window while waiting for computer to do some rendering work. Decided to open the Floyd up. First off, it's not an OFR, turns out I had gotten two bridges mixed up. Must've been more tired than I realised last night. It's an 80's Floyd, but a Schaller built (witht he thick base plate) and Jackson branded unit. As I was fiddling with it, another saddle popped loose. So I fully removed them both, and lo and behold, the finish underneath them wasn't flush. The edges around the screw hole had risen a bit. Overall the blaack coiting seems very sturdy, so could possibly be screws not being tightened enough and then tugging on upper layers of threads, causing them to bend outwards? Just a shot in the dark.
Used a tiny diamond file bring them back down to level with the base plate. Will slap on new strings when I have a chance and see if they stay put from here on out.
Didn't Ascension recently bashed these thick plate Schallers to be complete junk?
Apparently they're made from some too soft metal to hold together.
I'm not sure if it's worth it fixing, if that's correct.

Also, if you have a good fasteners store around you can usually get things like the 'saddle mounting screws' in a box of 100 for the price of what anyone sells two sets of them for.

Was about to ask it it was one of those units. The base plate screw holes strip VERY ease in those as that plate is NOT regular steel like real regular Shaller built Floyd is. Have had absolute fits with hose things on Gibson,Jackson, Hamer, Carvin and Washrburn guitars from the 80- 90 HATE that system!! I have replaced a couple with Ghoto Floyds because I could not get the saddle screws tight enough to stop the saddles from sliding and not strip. if you get it successfully intonated then locked plan to LEAVE IT ALONE as no joke IMO those systems are flat JUNK!!
Good luck man I have 2 guitars with that system right now and both I got locked down but have had a number of them that jus would not.
Yep had fits with several over the years with those systems and own 2 now. Base plate is not real steel and is very soft so strips easily. The 2 guitars i own now ( my 92 Washburn MG 104 and Pinky my 1990 Carvin X220C) both locked down without a issue and are stable. However have had many with that system that would lock down and NOT hold before the screw holes stripped! If you strip the base plate hole it will have to have a new plate. The high end Ghoto Floyds will fit so if yours wont cooperate let me know i will show you which system will work. Good luck.Didn't Ascension recently bashed these thick plate Schallers to be complete junk?
