Hi, I'm new to the forum but a long time Seymour Duncan user, Hey I have a Fender American Classic start HSS. I,m in a working band and need a lot of different tones. I think i would start with a JB in the bridge but I'm at a loss for the middle and neck, i would like a humbucker in the neck position bit be able to split the coils and a killer middle pup for the 2 and 4 position fender spank. any suggestions would really help !! Thanks

The quintessential match for a JB in an hss is two ssl-1s. If you want the noiseless variety you can get 2 stk-s4's. And if you need something hotter in the neck, and stk-s7

Is that one of the ones that came with the Shawbucker in the bridge slot?

The HSS is beautiful in principal...a kickass HB sound in the bridge and sweet single coil chime in the neutral mid position and bassy neck position. However, a HB shines with 500k pots and single coils shine with 250k pots.

The easy way around this is to use a HB that sounds relatively good with the 250k pots you have. The JB or PG bridge would be good choices depending on your style. For the Singles I'd use SSL-1s.

Screamin Demon is great for HSS strat. it has b@ll$ but is still stratty. Plus it isnt as loud as JB so iiscloser to the single coils in volume. JB is a lot louder than moat single coils unless you crank the single up to the sky and drop the Jb down into the pickguard. Demon is juuuuust right.

I couldn't agree more with that. The Demon interacts so well with single coils that it is almost always my first suggestion for an HSS setup.
