Ok Gang,

Here's what I have. I've been digging around cleaning here and there and came up with several pickups. I am having difficulty identifying one of them.

Seymour Duncan 59 B-J Humbucker (Neck)

It is all original, two conductor wire and both bobbins are black. One of my first guitars was an 1982 or 83 American Kramer Pacer-purchased back then. It was a single humbucker and Floyd config. A friend owned a 70's Gibson ES and sad as it may be, we didn't know jack sheot about Vintage guitars. We took the neck pickup out and put it on my Kramer. (We actually traded) Both of the pickups on the ES did not have the plate cover. Looking at the backside of the pickup, there is no solder where the p/u covers are typically soldered to the p/u base. I assume these 59's never came with the Nickel covers.

What I know is that this is a pre-80's Duncan Neck pickup and on the back, there is a white decal that has the letters 59B-J

What does the charactors "B" and "J" stand for?

Thanks in advance!

Randy

Re: Need help indentifying a Gibson pickup please.

It's a '59 Bridge model and the J is the person's initial that made it.
