Need help picking a pickup for my strat (Bridge Pickup)

Hey all. My strat bridge pickup is a little too thin for my tastes and was wondering if I could get a suggestion on what Single coil sized humbucker bridge pickup to go for? (Ala JB Jr, Lil59, fast track2). I am looking for something that can do punk and alternative. I am looking for a decent amount of output that drives an amp yet cleans up very nicely. The guitar itself is an american pro strat with an alder body and rosewood fretboard. will be using with fuzz and stuff like that.

How important is having a good clean tone in the bridge to you? Getting something to drive the amp and clean up is a tall order. My first thought is a Lil Screamin Demon.

Not super important but having a somewhat decent clean tone would be great .

Hot Rails with series/parallel switch. You also could look into the Billy Corgan pickups from Dimarzio.

I love my STK-S6 Custom Stack Plus. True noiseless, with a little more girth and output, while still retaining the Strat character.

If you would consider a Duncan SSL5 Custom. I have one in excellent condition. You way want a true humbucker, but if not let me know. I would do $35 shipped

The Hot Rails & switch idea is a good one, but if you don't want to do that, a JB Jr should be really close, too, without the really thick mids (no need for a series/parallel switch).

Re: Need help picking a pickup for my strat (Bridge Pickup)

Cool Rails does exactly like that.

Re: Need help picking a pickup for my strat (Bridge Pickup)

What is in there now? How much thicker do you want to go?

To me, something that cleans up well will provide a nice amount of high-end. This usually means a weaker wind.

From Duncan I'd consider the Little 59 Neck.

From DiMarzio the Satch Track.

Series/Parallel with a hotter pickup can work.

I would go with the Satch Track and a treble bleed, personally. I would avoid the Fast Track 2.

Hot rails is a good bridge hum for a strat. I think the lil jb it a good shout also.

Other options to consider:
DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Blues, Injector Neck and Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2 with a treble bleed.

I haven't yet heard single coil sized humbucker with decent cleans in strat bridge.

Don't forget SSL4/SSL7 ;) Enough output to drive amp, brilliant P90'sh overdriven tone and has nice smooth cleans too.

My favourite for strat bridge.

I bet you haven't put a neck model in the bridge then. ;)

As of now it’s just the stock fender V-mod that came with it. I might go the series parallel route with a hot rails

Go HSS. Pearly Gates bridge with Push/Pull pot split.

Re: Need help picking a pickup for my strat (Bridge Pickup)

JBjr or hotrails. I have the JBjr in mine it works fantastic.

Re: Need help picking a pickup for my strat (Bridge Pickup)

Little Screamin Demon. It rocks hard but doesnt overpower the single coils.
