Hi,
well....I have a Chadwick combo that is a one channel amp. You can get a variety of great clean to overdriven sounds - unfortunately only one sound at a time
So, I am looking for a pedal or some pedals to help turn the amp into a 3 channel(ish) monster.
The type of music my band plays is sort of heavy riff rock, grungy, think Sabbath, QotSA, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden etc. At the moment I am running the gain slightly and using a tubescreamer - this isn't really the sound I'm looking for. The TS colors the sound a little too much for rhythm although I like it for leads (I boost my sound with a Danelctro EQ pedal run through the fx loop).
Here's what I'd like to do: just start out with my amp - I want to run that sparkly clean (which it does very nicely) then have a really great heavy rhythm sound - overdriven, chunky, nice sustain and harmonics - then be able to switch to a lead sound that will cut through the mix.
I was wondering should I
a) just get a Rat - use it for rhythm then use the TS for lead?
b) get an Exotic BB+ pedal that will basically do it all (or a similar pedal)
c) get rid of the amp and get a 2 channel amp that has a boost built in (I have been looking at the Bogner Alchemist and am currently trying to sell my Krank combo on eBay)
any thoughtful suggestions/ideas will be greatfully recieved!
