Need help to choose Pick ups to my Fender Custom

Hi,

I have a Fender Custom, but in fact, I dont know what kind of wood was used for them construction, also, I dont know the original pick ups (2 Humbuckers). It's good thing to buy pick ups when I dont know the wood, original PUs and stuff?!

Well, I want to change my pick ups. I'm looking for a porwerfull sound with very good definition, I need to improve the fact that when strumming 8º chords (gain channel) the sounds that cames out turns very noisy, to be honest, the pick ups sucks a little when playing something a little louder.
I need a set with range to play fuc*ing death metal, to something more jazzy, but I dont know what I should do.... Somebody told me to try SH-4 JB on bridge and SH-2 Jazz on neck, what do u think about that? Can it work good with any kind of wood?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Sorry for my english :S

Well im getting a jb for my custom american strat, and most people recomended that i do. From what i found out, jb can be good for blues straight up to metal.

I feel that the Pearly Gates in the neck and Custom in the bridge are a better all around choice than the Jazz/JB.

if you use a JB it might sound way too bright since fenders are made of bright woods...usually people complain that when they put a jb in an already bright guitar that the sound is horrible with no beef....i think a custom might do the trick....also some people like custom 5 for drop tunings...it has less mids so it would get less muddy....and it sounds perfect for blues and jazz

i know for sure that a JB in a strat will do almost everything except dark/death/black/whatever metal. for everything else, it'll do just nicely. i've covered sabbath, metallica, maiden, etc with mine.

Hummm, i see. So, maybe before add the Seymours, I should ask to a specialist what kind of wood is made my guitar. I guess my Fender is a Showmaster, this kind of guitar was developed to play at raw tones, so probably the wood is not so bright. Anyway, thanks for your advice, I ill consult a specialist before do anything.

If the woods aren't Ash or Alder I guess the seymour JB will work ok, what do u think?!

Once again, sorry for my english :smokin:
