Need Help With Fuzz Build

DeathALT.

I found this cool page about building pedals from a few parts off of a fluorescent light bulb. I want to build the "Flourescent Fuzz" but I don't know what a few of the parts of the schematic mean:

http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/LIGHT+BULB+PROJECTS/

I'm not sure what Q1 and Q2 are (the circular things in the middle), and the upside down triangles at the bottom (I think these are grounds?).

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need Help With Fuzz Build

Two things:

* I would do some reading before starting a project. Fuzz face is the simplest circuit out there but you need to know at least what Q1 means.
* Forget about light bulb stuff. That is only a fuzz face. Get yourself a fuzz face PCB (tonepad.com has them), install sockets for most components and experiment. Most of the effort into making a good fuzz face is experimenting. Changing transistors, changing bias points, capacitors, etc.

Here's my build report http://diy-fever.com/effects/fuzz-face-revisited/ and awesome fuzz article from RG http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/fuzzface/fffram.htm
