Need help with wireing

Hi

I have an American Fender P-bass with S1-switch and want to change the standard pickup with a SPB-3 that i already have. The problem is the S1-switch. I know i need to split the wire between the two split pickups on the SPB-3 so i have 4 wires from the pickup, but I have no idea witch wire going where...

S1-switch wireing:

Non S1-switch wireing:

Can someone help? :)

Okay......these S-1 things are killing me these days.
Here is what you do:

Before you cut the wire between the two coils on the SPB-3, there are two available wires---black & white. Put the black wire to ground, and connect the white wire to the volume pot input (where it would go on a normal P-bass set-up).

Then, cut the wire that joins the two coils---this makes it two separate wires, on e coming from each coil. These go where the remaiining two wires are going from the Fender S-1 diagram.

The S-1 diagram shows a BLACK pickup wire going to the S-1 switch. Replace this with the wire from the SBP-3 that comes from the same coil that has the WHITE wire going to the volume pot input. (does that make sense?).

Put the remaining SPB-3 wire where the S-1 diagram shows a YELLOW wire going.

That should do it.

Hi,

Thanx for helping me out!

So it will be like this?

1. Before you cut the wire between the two coils on the SPB-3, there are two available wires---black & white.
Put the black wire to ground

Black on SPB-3 -> Ground on S-1 diagram

2. and connect the white wire to the volume pot input

White on SPB-3 -> White on S-1 diagram (Volume pot)

3. The S-1 diagram shows a BLACK pickup wire going to the S-1 switch. Replace this with the wire from the SBP-3 that comes from the same coil that has the WHITE wire going to the volume pot input.

Blak wire on the same coil as white wire on SPB-3 -> Black on top of S-1. (Between yellow and grond on top of the switch, where the arrow named "12" on the S-1 diagram points?)

4. Remaining wire -> Yellow on S-1 diagram

Am i right?
