Need some guidance, looking into new amp...

Hey guys!

I think I am going to be selling my Mesa Mark III. It's a great amp but I think it is just too metal sounding for me. I play relatively light stuff, the hardest tone I'd ever need is for stuff like Dio.

Can you guys tell me about the Mesa Boogie Stilleto Ace and the Lonestar?

I am pretty much looking for 3 doors down tone. Good cleans and a great hard rock tone, I am pretty sure they use Mesas?

I am looking for an amp that is more clean and light rock oriented, I'd use pedals to get it cooking for any sort of metal.

Opinions? Tips?

If a mark III is too metal then gor for a mark II or mark I, they have an amazing creamy/singing like distortion that has good clarity. Not the greatest rhythm amps but still sweet. Personally I love Laney amps and think that they are the most versatile amps you'll find for the money. Check out a VC-30 or VC-50 combo for lighter stuff, while a GH-50L or GH-100L will give you a wide variety of tones to choose from. They are the only amps I know that can go from straight country clean to Modern metal and succeed anywhere and everywhere between.
