I think the 59's are a great match for the solid mahogany bodied guitars.

Yes...especially double cutaway mahogany bodied guitars. I've noticed that single cutaway Les Pauls have more bass and lower midrange than double cutaway Les Paul based guitars like the PRS or some Hamers or the Gibson SG. The 59 seems to fill in that bass and lower midrange that's sort of missing (not really missing but "sort of" missing) in some double cutaway guitars.

I have a Hamer Studio that's a terrific "sleeper". Mine's a '99 with a '59 neck and a JB in the bridge. I asked the guys at Hamer why they switched out the JB for a '59 bridge in the newer Studios, and they said they were responding to changes in players' tastes.

I think it's great that some folks have commented lately that they're getting better tone with lower gain pickups, and I agree 100%. I've got a '59 bridge set aside for my Hamer some day. :)

Yup. That's true. Got me the low end and high end sizzle i was missing.

Funny how different a neck joint can make a guitar sound.

Re: Never knew a set of 59's were this good!!!

would a set of 59's be good for putting in a h/h strat style guitar with an alder body? or would it not sound very good as some have mentioned in previous posts?

Love the 59' bridge, haven't found a 59' neck that I like in the neck position. However, I do like the 59' neck in the BRIDGE position...especially in my LP Standard.
