I landed a sweet deal on a Mesa Boogie 50 Caliber + combo! Sounds amazing through my Marshall 4x12

I am in tonal heaven. It needs a decent amount of work
- New Tubes
- new EQ Slider cause one is missing
- new push-pull pot for the lead channel since it's broken but the footswitch works perfectly.

Congrats!

Give the guys at Mesa a call and they may be able to help you with the right parts.

NICE! The graphic EQ is a key element of success, but my experience with Boogies of that vintage is that once you get above a certain volume level, it will power through ANYTHING, and the graphic is less important.

I have been inspired countless times by my Mark III and IV. :cool2:

Love my 50 Cal+! Mine was actually a combo that someone converted to a head.

If you're doing heavy tones, be sure to try it with the EQ switch set to auto. While that switch is supposed to turn off the graph EQ automatically when you're on the clean channel, it also gives the graph EQ a more drastic impact on the tone and from my experience, makes the distortion sound bigger. I actually emailed Mesa when I found this out, because I was afraid there was something wrong with my amp, but they told me that it's normal.

Mesa has always been great when getting parts for my long-discontinued Blue Angel. I bet that amp sounds great!
