Anyways, I just walked in the door from last night. I'll try and get some clips up later on.
I ran my MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive in front of it, but I didn't really care for it. It seemed rather bright. I may try my MXR Classic Overdrive through it for the hell of it as well.

I've been flirting with the idea of picking up one of those for the house for a long time now. I was really impressed when I played one in GC back when they first came out.

Hey, I have the HT-5 stack, its a great little amp, and I love the way the sweet spot comes in at about half volume.
I've found exactly the same thing with the clean channel and overdrives - it makes them all seem rather bright, but the dirty channel overdrive is so good I'm not needing them that much.

i stumbled upon a minihalf for nearly halfprice so i couldnt leave without it. Let us know what you think of the high pitched tube saturation sound- it sorta works with some guitars ive tried but not others, so im tempted/ yet not to swap the sovtek 12ax7 tube, as seems to be popular. But id rather work it as is... ( folks actually swap the 12bu7 and pwr tube too... to each his own)
I keep hearing about the 4x12 recommendation- so which ohm jack would go with most 4x12 cabs- 8 or 16?
Anyways- Enjoy! Def louder is sweeeeeeter on these.

Swapping the preamp tube makes a slight difference. When I swapped the power tube, though, I didn't hear any difference at all.

Actually a groovy amp, and everyone should have a small pracrice amp, youll find yourself palying more thsoe times ya just didnt want to fire up the big amp, which is a lot, yet wanted some of the rich tone you get out of those big amps in a small package.

Lower wattage amps don't have to be cranked as much and are easier to push to get the sweet tube tone though. :cool2:
nice score! its hard to imagine you NOT playing through a 100 watt full stack though
