new amp: fender ultimate chorus

i don't know if any of you heard of this, but it sounds pretty good. i haven't played it (i lack guitar calbles now ), but i heard it live from the dude i bought it from. what do you think of these amps? got it for about $500 after bartering for a while.

thank you for your offers, they were great! but as you know the shipping drove me away. it was $300+ shipping. they were great offers and i would have taken them if i wasn't on the otherside.

the Ultimate Chorus is great amp for that stereo Chorus sounds... i love the fuzzy stereo sound in these things drive channel.... great SS amp in my opinion... i have a 96 Ultimate Chorus and a 98 Princton Chorus in my collection... both are with the analog chorus and reverb before the DSP effects came on them before they discontinued them...

the Ultimate Chorus amp does have some downsides... they seem to disappear in the mix real easy... but i still use mine a lot at jams and stuff and i use it and the Princton Chorus around the house for pretty much most of my practice work... the Ultimate Chorus is a much better amp then the Princton Chorus... the Princton Chorus speakers crap out real easy, and the Ultimate has nicer bigger speakers and more volume on tap...

saddly my Reverb pan was gone on my Ultimate Chorus and it was replaced with a reverb unit out of a different Fender SS model... it works but the reverb has to be turned up really loud to be heard... something not right... oneday i'll have to track down the right reverb unit for it...

well they disappear, but can they hang enough so you can be heard at least?

for a SS amp they have plenty of power...

These things are my favourite SS amp.. hell they're a competitor for my favourite amp over all. Super super clean tone, a beautiful stereo chorus ability and an (in my opinion) mind blowing gain channel. I'm depressed that mine doesn't work anymore.. just quit at life one day.

ya they are fun!!!! mine has had issues since i bought it used for sure... it had some shorts in it and in the middle of a jam started cutting in and out.... then the reverb pan died and was replaced with a 2nd rate one... oneday i hope to track down a new proper reverb pan and get it back to top specs... other then the reverb being too quiet the amp sounds great now that the shorts were fixed... i believe the store i used sent mine to John Fletcher who used to work for Cosmo but is out on his own now i think...

i'll buy a 2nd one if i find it cheap enough for sure... they can be had for $300Canadian these days... i think i paid $260 for mine 2 years ago, and all the repair work they did was free under the store's warranty
