not good tone...:(

but w/e...i used a metronome this time. in case you couldn't tell. sometimes its pretty sketchy...but otherwise its pretty good.

the playing is bad too. overall not a very good clip but here goes nothing

and yowza! those first couple of notes are OUT OF TUNE. holy crap...well a lot of the song is out of tune...why am i posting this?!?

Re: new blues dealio

What chord did you play at the beginning? Sounds friggin Scofield :D Very cool!

It had some groove mate, sometimes I think it was a bit off but overall quite good. How did you feel playing to the metronome?

Another suggestion, you could use more rhythm variation in your solo playing. More pauses and not always playing eight notes.

that first chord is a Bb7 (#9)

the metronome felt wierd. I had to pay attention a lot mroe than i normally do.

thanks for the tips on soloing as well. i'll take that into account

Re: new blues dealio

I know you love your jazz, so rather than setting the metronome to 1 2 3 4, set it for half the rate and think of each click as being on the 2 and 4, just like a drummer's highhat. It helps you keep the groove alot better. I generally set my metronome to only play on the 4th beat - it's awkward to train your ear to but it gives you the most groove room without losing the beat.
