New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

Re: New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

The funny thing with alot of these new ss pedals,is that they are trying to create tube warmth and tube tone out of a pedal....The Crossroads Digitech pedal was another example, and I think it's a terrible sounding pedal overall...If it says Fender on it however,it'll sell....Let us know what you think when you try them out? :fingersx:

I wouldn't buy one, but those are pretty damn cool!

Re: New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

The 59 Bassman might act as a cool preamp for my head. My amp is designed after the specs of the 5f6a Bassman (late '50s), but it doesn't have any preamp knobs on it, not even a volume knob. I usually use any of my overdrive/distortion pedals, EQs, or compressors as preamps, or even my Vox ToneLab. But a little pedal like this could be neat.

Finally a good idea... Now for them to prove that it works.

Gimmick Alert! Gimmick Alert!

I'm not too sure about that, you know !

Both the HAO Sole Pressure & Toadworks Lil Leo are voiced around a 4x10 Bassman, and BOTH sound pretty bloody good ! :smokin:

Just maybe, (with the help of Fender) Boss can pull it off too - you never know !

Let's see how they sound once they hit MF !

Re: New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

i'm not sold on Modeling replaceing my stacks of amps yet, so i have little faith in a Boss Pedal claiming to turn any amp into a Deluxe or a Bassman....

Re: New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

I will repeat what I posted in the previous thread about this.....

I think I just puked in my mouth a little. Do not get one of those things within 100 feet of me!

It's amazing how quick people are to judge something they never tried.

How many here have tried one? Nobody? I thought so.

I have to agree with this. While someone may have heard the COSM modelling technology used in GT-8s or another product, this might be tweaked or reveamped for the pedal. And since no one as played one, I don't think it's right to diss right now. I'd like to hear one direct, and then it's respective amp, and then through it's respective amp.

I'm especially interested because I'm thinking of building a Bassman.

Yes I am a Fender snob. Don't try to sell one of my beloved Tweeds or Blackface fenders in a freakin box. It just ain't gonna happen. I don't even have to play it to know that it will be nothing like plugging into the real thing!

BAM!!!!!
how do you like that!!! :fingersx:

Re: New Boss/Fender pedals: they will sell a ton of these...

I don't deny the potential of one of these pedals doing something great for tone, but I just don't see it doing the work of a tube amplifier.

However, I would love it if Fender and Boss can prove me wrong. I'd be happy to reduce my gear costs by 90%. I'd be crazy not to want that.
