I divided up my rack gear awhile back. Keeping everything in a single rack was getting way too heavy to call portable The problem is though that there are quite a few connections between the Triaxis and the 2:90 and I ended up patching my rig together in the dark, which is no easy task on most dark stages. I got good at it but I knew there had to be an easier way to do it.
Another issue I had running stereo was that my far speaker was getting unplugged by the constant stream of people onstage whether they needed to be up there or not. Some folks think being on stage makes you someone special even if you aren't in the band. This problem caused me to have to replace the screen resistors in my 2:90 and that pissed me off.
Our own member, Lastwinj of tone Shop Amplification made them for me and the break out boxes solve both problems. Now the right and left outs from my Triaxis rig along with the 3 switch wires are combined into a 7 pin DIN connector at the rear of the amp and the speaker cables are converted to neutrix connections at the amp and at the speakers so they lock during installation. No more unplugged speakers and cooked power amps.
He wired them all up, installed the jacks and even made the 7 pin DIN cable. Very nice job and exactly what I wanted.
