New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

Re: New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

I should be happy, but it just means I got to get one and spend more money. BTW, that guy Thorn is a awesome player isnt he?
Wait..please tell me its 9V DC powered ...

EDIT-its AC powered only, and if you cant say anything nice, then dont say it at all so I'll just say its one less pedal I'll need to spend money on.

WRONG! The New 2012 (Smaller sized pedal) Plexi-Tone pedal is 9 volts DC.

The new `single channel` Carl Martin PlexiTone was designed and incorporates new DC-DC converter circuitry, so the pedal can be powered by a regulated 9V Power Supply but will still operate on the same +-12V level as the original AC powered PlexiTone.

Battery: The PlexiTone does not accept the use of battery, only external power supply.
Power consumption: max. 62 mA
Power supply: 9 V DC (regulated), 100 mA minimum, 2.1 mm female plug, center negative (-)
ATTENTION: Please Use DC Power Supply Only! Failure to do so may damage the unit and void the warranty.

Now wait just the frack a minute. You are saying the 2012 Carl Martin Plexi tone DOES NOT run on a battery, and in the same breath saying I'm WRONG about my initial bone of contention about the pedal NOT being able to be run by a 9 volt battery that was ridiculed by just about everyone here?? You guys are messed the hell up in the head, and I want NOTHING to do with Carl Martin pedals, or most of you ********s ever again.
BY the way..from what I have read except for **** for brains Stratman, the 2012 Plexi Carl Martin DOES run on also a 9V battery.
The fact that this is STILL unclear still makes me unhesistant to say I will NEVER have a Carl Martin pedal.

Okay so..being able to be run on 9VDC does NOT mean it can be powerEd by a battery. Thanks so much Carl martin, I mean, I only have a collEge degree, im a frakin idiot, I didnt undersSTAnd that. I mean, 9VDC is what most ratioanal beings assume to be a battery, but NO, here, where Thorn points to the damn input, and says 9VDC, it really only does MEAN WAL WORT 120V ac STEPED DoWN TO 9vdc AND BUMPED BACKED UP TO 12vdc INSIDE THE BOX, WITHOUT ANY BATTERY IN THE EQUATION , to which then know it all gear snobs and technical elititsts then try and belittle well meaning consumers who try and place good intentioned trust in a product .
One word...All this is predicated on **** for brains Stratmans post , so if he's wrong, and I dont doubt he is, then I'm also wrong.

You can use your battery on the outside....but it won't take long before you need to change it..
So why bother with those old useless things.....not enough mA in those suckers.....and there is really no room for it anyways...

Re: New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

One observation, if I may...

It sounds like a cool pedal and all, but if you are going to represent your employer on an internet forum, you could be more professional in your responses. Instead of mocking MM, why didn't you just answer his questions in the first place? Honestly, it would make me think twice about buying one if this is how you guys do your tech support.

OK - MetalManiac. You can be such a jerk at times!

Read the freaking manual before you run crap out of your fingertips and onto the keyboard.

Carl Martin’s manual clearly states the following:

Battery: The PlexiTone does not accept the use of battery, only external power supply.
Power consumption: max. 62 mA
Power supply: 9 V DC (regulated), 100 mA minimum, 2.1 mm female plug, center negative (-)

MM is correct here in a sense. A wall wart is AC powered and the pedal does not have accommodation for battery power, even though the marketing video makes big nuts about the fact that it now runs off of 9V. And a self-described CM employee is belatedly suggesting that it would be ridiculous to even try to run this pedal off a battery which actually validates the point MM was trying to make.

Yes, he can be a jerk, but that's beside the point. The manual was not linked here, yet we have a living, breathing CM rep here on the forum participating in this very thread. Is it unreasonable for MM to expect that he might get answers to his questions posted here without getting an RTFM response? He's actually not the only one who was interested in the answer.

And yes, there are legitimate reasons to want to power a "pedalboard friendly" stomp box off of a battery.

Re: New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

I'm getting a little confused. Am I correct I saying the new Plexitone can be run off a standard 9v power supply from say Boss or 1spot ect..?

Re: New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

There is a difference in being employed and just being there from time to time!
......Read stratmans posts for the power thing......
Or the picture says more than 1000 words thingy....

Fair enough. You do seem to be knowledgeable about the Plexi Tone, though, and you *did* claim to have expert knowledge about the original model in the other thread. Again, MM is not the only one who is reading this thread for information about the new pedal, and you could have offered some of your expertise instead of just having a knee-jerk reaction to a poorly-phrased question. The flame war was a bit unnecessary.

Based on the info that Stratman provided...

RTFM said:

...the answer is YES, you can run the new PT off of the 1spot. Unfortunately I have now lost interest in the answer, myself.

Re: New Carl Martin Plexi Tone Demo

You must be new...we always and as in always gives Jerry a hard time....and despite the wordings....it is not very serious in anyway....
It has been like this for years.....
