New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

This is my cover of the theme song for a Japanese drama called Lunch Queen. I maintained the central theme of the song, but made up most of the solos to spice it up a bit :) I hope you can tell what parts sound like me. I did all of the other instruments in Garage Band, and my good friend Paul is playing bass.

Still needs some final mixdown touchups (levels!), but here it is!

Enjoy!

Sounds good Biu!! Nice drive, great job, great clean playing. The bass sounds really good, too!

Totally Japan :)

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

very cool! Great production, sounds very tight.

So did you just use a toneport for this?

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

Thanks for listening!!!

Yup, you're hearing ALL Toneport UX2 :) Took a lot of tweaking, but it's definitely worth it! Oh yeah, pickup-wise, everything is the DiMarzio Breed in full-humbucking or split-coil mode.

Bro, those guitar parts sound great. Nice tone, feel, production/mix too. You have come a friggin long way in a short time :)

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

Also, your tunes have a nice 'fun factor' to them :smokin:

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

Wow BIU, very good job.

Sounds so professional. You got a really professional guitar tone. Really dig the guitar tone - just like listening to Vai or something. That huge reverb on it. You resolve your musical ideas very well too. Very good chord tone targeting.

I listened to it 2 times in a row. The keyboards sound friggen majestic too. Good job.

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

Thanks, Stevo! I have become INCREDIBLY bored with the usual rock/guitar type music that I "should" be listening to and I suppose my tastes are searching for more interesting things. It might be because I'm in a Music dorm here at UC Davis; I'm surrounded by amazing musicians 24/7, so I'm endlessly being exposed to styles that step waaaaaay outside of the blues/shred-wankery realm. Lately I've been listening to a LOT of Shiina Ringo and Tokyo Jihen. She blends jazz progressions with modern pop/rock, and the result is so interesting, I feel like I will never get bored of it.

That's a huge compliment! Thanks so much, Frantic! I hope to crank out some more tunes over Winter Break when I'm home :)

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

Awesomely cool!!
This is quite fun and interesting....and I know what you mean by being bored by the standart stuff:D
I can assure you I was not bored for a sec here!!
Kakkoii!

Re: New Clip: "Flow" Cover!

That means "cool", right? I took Japanese in high school--forgot most of it :)
Many thanks for listening, Rid!

I think you're right adn it's about the equivalent of cool. I don't know what the kakko part means, but it's a combination of that and ii (good).
