Seriously. Thats what its called.

Decided today was as good as any to do a little clippage. This is done with my PODxt and DFHS. The drums need work, I'm gonna be mixing em a bit more tomorrow. But, for the moment, this aint too bad.

*Update* I've messed around with the drums a bit, and just re-did the second half of the clip with the A8 Custom/59 hybrid I just installed in my McCarty. The chance happens around the 36 second mark.

Nice thick tone! I had a McCarty Rosewood a while ago and it did NOT sound that good. I think the solid rosewood neck robbed it of it's definition.

Cool clip, man.

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

0:35 is the best point.
Rreally great tone! Not enough defined ,but it's more your amp i think! The tone "color" is awesome! And nice playing man!

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

Its partially the POD, partially the Dragon II pickup in the bridge. The Dragon II sounds very JB-ish to my ears...its got a real loose bottom end to it. I'll probably end up swappin it out eventually with a custom or a full shred...that'll make things nice and tight :).

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

McCartys don't come stock with Dragon II's - those to my knowledge only come stock in the Custom 22, unless you specifically ordered it otherwise.

It was a used piece, when I picked it up the tag said it had Dragon II's installed by the previous owner. Though, I haven't quite opened it up and checked on that yet ;).

Yeah i see the point now!:fingersx:
Why you guys never try a PATB?:smack:
A PATB2 will hit the nail! Not loose ,not too much tight like a custom.Just teh best of two worlds.Tightness and wideness!

I've only ever tried the PATB-1, I'd love to try out the PATB-2, but I couldn't quite swing it cosmetically on this guitar...I'd kinda like to keep the guitar looking stock ;).

except, dammit, I can't get a FS with a chrome cover. Unless I swap some of the screws. Hmmmm....

:chairfall
You can get covers for a PATB!

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

I'll change my comment to "I've never seen a PATB with a cover"

Point me in the right direction, bro ;).

You just have to know that the PATB2 is more compressed and is "wider" in tone.I will try mine with an ALNICO V magnet.MAybe it will give more dynamics. But it's the best SD i ever heard or used (okay Brobucker and Screamind Demon are another class)
I don't know who told it here ,but you can search here for the covers for PATBs.

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

I just updated this track, mixed the drums a bit better, made a couple of changes to the beats. I'll be re-recording this one as soon as I get my new pickups in my McCarty (A8 custom/59 hybrid, PGn) so we can all check out the difference between the stock pups and the duncans ;).

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

Good stuff dude! Playing and tone is awesome. The drums sound great too. Did you have to program all the beats in DKFH or do they have loops?

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

I had to program in the beats...no loops here. As for DFHS, its got a bit of a learning curve, but its definitely a great tool. It'll never replace a real drummer for me, but its great for just layin down recordings.

Though, I don't claim to be a drummer, nor know much about drumming...sometimes my drummer laughs at me when I show him my programmed beats. I didn't think I did all too bad on this one though ;).

nice little clip!

Re: New clip with my PRS McCarty, Its ****ing metal

Nice!

I terid the WCR Fillmore in my McCarty, a Rio grande BBQ, and now I have a Wolfetone Caretaker set.

I still always feel my McCarty lacks something in tone compared to my LPs.

I just see 'em as a different flavor really. I've got a Gibby LP studio lite, a PRS McCarty, and a PRS singlecut. I find that the my Paul Reed Smith's are a bit more refined sounding than the gibson, and overall a bit clearer.

I gotta say though, the only LP's I've ever played that have even come close to feeling as good as my McCarty or singlecut was a historic R7. Something about the way a PRS feels...they just play like buttah.

I just swapped out the pickups in my McCarty as well, the dragon II's are gone, In their place is an A8 Custom/59 hybrid and a PGn. I just expanded on this tune a little bit a couple of nights ago, I'll try to get around to mixing that down and posting it today.
