New cover for old Hotrails?

I've got an older bridge Hotrails model that has deep scratches in the bobbins that look really ugly and I'd like to cover it up. Can I update it to the newer covered Hotrails design, or does any company sell covers for bladed single-coil sized humbuckers?

Good luck not that I'm aware of. The older style Hot Rails has the fiber bobbins which = non replaceable.

Maybe you can fashion something out of veneered wood or some thin plastic. Just an idea, not really familiar with the HR.

Well the newer Hotrails has a plastic cover, similar to normal single-coil covers, that sits down on top of the bobbins and leaves the blades exposed. If SD made that available to the public, I'd sure buy one.

The new Hot Rails cover isn't something that fits over a pickup. The new version has none of the fiber material......it's a circuit board glued to the plastic housing.

Your best bet is to check out Allparts and see if theres a solid cover for a regular single coil (no holes), then use a razorknife or sandpaper to make the Hot Rails fit up into it.
