Guys, I hate to say it, but there's very little I can tell you about this project. Except that all your guesses are wrong. Way wrong.

This can only mean two things... either it's a LiveWire type or *gasp* nd acoustic pickup :laugh2:

Evan can't say anything more about this but it'll be exciting to see what comes out of Duncan's own personal "Hangar 18" haha.

Re: new dave mustaine pup

Damn! I'm listening to The System Has Failed.... havent heard such great riff from Mustaine for a while.... reminds me Rust In Peace era

Re: new dave mustaine pup

ok ok ok, here's a question...was it used for his latest album, or was that still the JB?

I think if he were to have his own pickup with boosted lows, he could just go back to using D'addario strings. GHS strings tend to throw out low end like no other. Or at least it's much easier to do that with them.

Re: new dave mustaine pup

I just got the latest copy of Australian Guitar Magazine yesterday and it has an interview with Dave Mustaine in it and he talks about this new pickup hes working on. According to him its gonna be a JB crossed with a live wire heavey metal so im thinking along the lines of an active JB.

Dave said that, did he? Well.... I'll have to have a talk with him...

;-)

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the pickup at this point. But I guess the cat is part-way out of the bag (thankyouverymuchdave).

Stay tuned.

Hahahaha i love it :laugh2:

He actually wrote alot of the riffs after/during the RIP era, just never recorded them. I'm glad he finally did!

Re: new dave mustaine pup

I know what it iiiiiissssss, I know what it iiiiissssssss. I actualy got to touch the guitar that was sent to SD for Dave Mustaine, a Jackson if I remember correctly. It's a sweet looking V with his name on the headstock. Scott Miller told me about the pickups, but I won't go into detail. I will tell you that they have sweet black nickel covers.....and are really hot.

BLACK NICKEL COVERS!!!! OH man that would look sweet on my black les paul studio!! Put on some black hardware and it would be a mean gothic!!!

I'll happily trade or sell my EMGS for this! G.A.S

TIMEFRAME please.

Re: new dave mustaine pup

big disappointment that Mustaine didn't participate in the jam last night... his wife told me he just doesn't do that type of thing. something about superstitious or something perhaps. I got to speak to the two of them for a few this morning. Dave was pretty impressed with Seymour's chops. He'd never heard him play before. Neither had I.

Re: new dave mustaine pup

Scott, have you ever heard Mustaine play?

I'm not really surprised he didn't participate, as his style isn't really the 'off the cuff' type of thing that went on last night.
