New Duncan squeeling...???

New Duncan squeeling...???
I put in a Duncan Neck Distortion in the bridge of my Les Paul...
Thought I did everything right, but it's squeeling uncontrollably in high gain situations.
Anything I "could" have missed?
Black wire to contact
Green to VOL pot
Red/whie together... and taped.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the pickup.

Does it have a cover? Maybe air gap between the cover and the bobbin tops?

If no cover? Not potted right or bad pickup?

hmmmm super hot pickup with super high gain, is theres also super high volumes involved? Hell my pickups squeel with not too much gain at high volumes, its something i expect.

It has great tone!! Measures right on 12.7 k...
Just squeels when high gain dialed in!!

Thanx, Bro... but I have pickups almost twice the output of this one that DO NOT squeel in the same situation.

Incorrect potting has nothing to do with tone. It will still sound good but feedback a lot. Sounds like improper potting or something is loose. I would send it back for exchange.

BTW... It's a Bogner XTC on 1.5 volume... not even practice volume.

With that low a volume something is wrong with the pickup.
