New Epiphone Genesis

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

It IS a lot of guitar for the money. But I have to agree that they could have made a better looking design. The thick waist is the biggest problem. And the headstock is almost hideous.

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

I dont know what the price diffs will be, but give me this one over the new Epi any day :

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

double cut les pauls look like some totally smashed-up-faced, yappy little ratdog porked a perfectly good LP in the butt and somehow got it pregnant, and then that retarded monstrosity came out.

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

I don't know that I'd go that far. I think the double cut Gibson LP's look much better than that Epi (and this coming from an Epi fan).

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

yeah and ditch the Bigbsy

the LTD version of the Kirk sigs are horrible. Played about 6 looking for a good one, ugh why did they even bother. They look great, that's it

. . . or buy one of these, and have a much better looking/classy guitar (and probably much better build quality)

I wonder if the reissues are as heavy. I had one of the originals and it was like an oak dinning table!

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

Once again Gibson rates an epic fail on the neck joint, why have comfortable access as it would only help playability.

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

The neck joint isn't even the biggest issue with those things...have you see how they look?

Re: New Epiphone Genesis

I remember wanting one when they came out. I played one in a little music store around the corner from my house and it played great, but I didn't have the money. Always wanted to pick one up, but just never did. When I finally set my mind to getting one a few years back, the used prices had jumped from the three to four range they had been at for nearly three decades to seven and eight. Couldn't bring myself to pay that for an Epi. I'm one of the weird ones who actually like the looks, but I don't think I've ever played an Epiphone save for the Lucille that I liked the feel of. Gonna go play one though. Haven't bought any gear in nearly two years or even more, so I'm about due, right?
