Re: New evh wolfgang!
I think they are relevant in a 'its just like when i was 17 and driving around in my Camaro' way. I talked to several people who saw VH in half full arenas, so I guess if you sell out in some major markets, maybe thats what counts.
They have no new music. Eddie's live guitar solo on the last tour was painful (YouTube it). While he advanced guitar playing really really far (I am a fan of early VH and the Hagar period), I don't think he has anything new to say musically in 20 years. I know I am in the minority, but I don't want to even hear any new music from VH that sounds 'just like' what they did in 1978. What bothers me about EVH and his brand is that he relies so much on the past- and spins the same yarn about this guitar that he had been to people about the EBMM & Peavey, but to a new generation, and in a magazine aimed at teenaged males (or adults pretending to be). Guitar World's 'interview' reads more like a fanboy press release for his new gear than any kind of real information.
