New fender...a little bit of strat and a little bit of tele and then some

Picked this up from Sam Ash last week. It's a pawnshop '72 in surf green. Hardtail Strat body with bound F hole, 3 bolt tele neck, wide range neck pickup, pick up blender pot and it's made in japan. Just 1 slight tweak of the intonation and it plays and sounds great!image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

That's gorgeous! I love surf green!

I like the concept of that guitar a lot, but can't help but think there's something sexier for the bridge pickup.

I'd probably drop a nickel humbucker into a chrome/nickel pickup ring.........or maybe a Phat Cat if I wanted it brighter.

It's a cool Fender mutt.

Surf green is great.

I agree that the bridge pup should have a chrome or nickel cover to match the neck pup.

A pup ring in aged white to match the pickguard would be outstanding, as well. Also, bevel the pickguard where the control plate goes into it so you can see the white-black-white continuous around the entire guard (like next to the bridge pup).

Fender struck gold with that Pawnshop series. Really started putting out unique stuff that people can actually afford. Looks really solid.... Uhh... Semi-... You know what I mean.

That looks like phun. Just add Blues Jr. and you're away...

A very cool design but +1 on the bridge pick up.

I like the different, unique aspects of it. I may have owned one of these once. Can't remember. Enjoy it!

I could go either way on covering the bridge PU, but then i dont care about every little detail on a guitar. Nice axe though, knowing it's made in Japan makes me think it's probably a great player all around.
