New Flanger Day!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
So, I'm really more of a chorus guy, but sometimes you just need "more" and honestly, to me, that's what a Flanger does!

Found a BF-3 at a hot price, and awesome condition. Had to do it! Honestly, this IMO, is the Flanger to have, unless you want something else just for vintage or sentimental reasons.

1. Four Functional knobs - never get a Flanger with less than 4 knobs!!! So, major flexibility

2. Two major Flange sounds - Standard and Ultra, because more is more!

3. Guitar + Bass inputs, and Stereo outs

4. Tap Tempo for syncing, and a personal favorite - Momentary, because you sometimes need just hit of Flanger! (Ain't Talking Bout Love...)

5. Gate/Pan. Pan of course send s in Stereo and the flange goes left/right. Gate, however, is like a Tremolo set to square or hard on/off, with flange.

That is a LOT of Flanger!!! Not to mention Chorus, Phase, Vibrato etc if you understand how to set the knobs.

Getcha one and get your Number of the Beast, Spirit of the Radio, Barracuda, She Sells Sanctuary, Van Halen, or whatever you do on!

I have an old black label MIJ, I had mine infront. It survived the H9 but once I got the H90 there was no need for it. Mine now lives on my bass player's board. It sounds awesome in the mix.

Flangers make the best choruses. I like flanging both in front and in the loop, depends on what I'm going for. I've always been interested in the BF-3, looks like a cool pedal.

im not a big flanger guy, but those do sound really good. lots of great tones in there if you spend the time to dial it in

The stereo out is definitely useful, but the bass input confuses me. Just have a stereo input and put one of those bass/guitar switches on the top like an OC-5 does

It's basically a subtle high pass filter of some sort. Flanger bass notes sound like crap. Makes it sort of like the High Band Flanger. But less so...

I've been seriously futzing with knobs the past couple of days.

Flanging from subtle to 747 - check
Basic chorus, quite nice actually - check
Phasing that I prefer to a phaser...check

Just a great all-in-one Swiss army swirl tool.

Wooo hooo

...Although don't you always say you're not a flanger guy?

I love flanger

...from subtle to whatever you want, although I can live without airplane sounds.

But to me All Right Now and Follow Me (Free & Rory Gallagher respectively) are the epitome of judicial use of a flanger to bring out the best of a nice crunchy tone.

I'm not - but this pedal is just too good to pass up, especially in the sub 90 zone.

The momentary is just awesome, have I said that?
