New Gibson Les Paul day!

only picture I can find is the other LPJ, it's over at the studio

For some reason I immediately thought of The Offspring when I heard the tone (not what you're playing, just the sound.). Don't know if it's the guitar or the amp, but the bottom end sounds looser than your others. I like it, it's a good sound. I'm just noticing what's different.

I really like the x2n in softer wood bodies, definitely not in maple, walnut, or even alder/ash.

Great looking LP imo!

If it's a bit on the bright/percussive/stiff side unplugged, then the invader would be a seriously great choice.

Yes, it is looser sounding. That's what I'm hearing too.
Thanks, I always appreciate the feedback.

Sounds like it would be perfect for some sludgy/doomy riffing. Nice score! LP's sound great but are'nt my kinda guitars (shredsticks and pointy's :p) Still that's the look I'd go for if I ever did get myself one..

Just an FYI, the 2013 models have a huge logo on the headstock.
there was quite a debate on another site I frequent where a lot of people were thinking it might be fake because the logo was so big.

After lots of examination and pictures and whatnot, just know that this year (and maybe others) have larger logos.

I think that sounds great!

I've never thought the 498T was overly loose, but I've never tried those ones with brass baseplates.

Are you keeping the black Kluson-style tuners in it?

We'll see. It is still settling into it's new setup and strings and tuning etc.... So if after a couple weeks it strays from holding tune, then yeah, I'll order some black Grovers or gotohs. But for now they seem to be "ok" at least they're black.

Tuned down to B standard.
It gets pretty chewy.
had to use the Peavey because the others were too mushy.

Just a sound byte for anyone interested.

That's cool, love the sound of a down-tuned Gibson. What strings are you using? I used to buy single .064s to use for B with a D'Addario baritone light set, instead of the .062 it came with, but lately I've been using Ernie Balls and digging .070.
