New Gibson Les Paul day!

I use the skinny top beefy bottom. What are they like 54-10 I think.
we usually tume Drop B or C# std. I have this one lower because I was learning runes to my memory by Amon Amarth

Well I had a huge break through tonight.

I read up on the pickups in my extra pickup drawer.... Seems like the Duncan Custom is well liked in Les Pauls with some people claiming it's too hot for that guitar.... Literally music to my ears.

I came home after 14 hours at school. Changed clothes, grabbed my Chocolate LP "Sasquatch" I'm calling it.... And headed to the garage to perform another surgery on it.

Wired the pickup into the eBay Gibson PCB board adapter correctly the very first time! ( Small, but mighty victory indeed)

Sounds like a million bucks!

it's different than the beloved Distortion, but still pretty hot! It squeals when called upon and sounds very thick!

I only gave it ten minutes of play, but am overwhelmed with admiration for the new tones from this guitar. It is light years better than that sloppy 498t for sure! I am not sure about the aesthetic, but I have a plastic cover already enroute to take care of that.

Yes I know there are 2 screws missing and the strings aren't even tight yet.... it was still on the bench and not quite buttoned up yet.

It bothers my OCD now looking at it lol... Too bad I can't just edit a post and fix that.....

Tomorrow I will set the poles, change my truss rod cover, and she will be ready for the stage!

Really liking this axe.

I don't think so.... I'd order something for it, but I just don't play a neck pickup ... Like ever....

You can probably just grab some random zebra pickup off amazon and invest in it as much as the plastic cover, LOL.

I once got a Duncan '59N for my Ibanez RGA that I hated, so I just had it there for shows. I even removed the magnet so that it didn't pull on the strings at all, LOL.

Cracking myself up over here with this aesthetically enhanced Gibson LPJ that looks like a custom ha ha ha ha ha.

I know a lot of people really get all fired up about it but I think it's hilarious. I'd never try to pass it off as a custom or anything. But if someone asked I would answer that it's really one of a kind

Well today I think it may have achieved its final stage of completion.

Wired in a brand new TB6.
Painted plastic cover flat brown
Painted neck pickup
Took a file to said tb6 to allow the plastic cover to fit.
Sanded the cover on the sides to fit into pickup ring
It's not the most spectacular face I've ever seen on a Les Paul, but I do like the fact that it's different.
I don't recall ever seeing flat brown covered pickups on an LP before.

For now...I'll call it good.
Sound check says it's near perfect once I got the pickup height adjusted to where it was thick like a latina weather girl!
