New Guitar Arrived

brisk

NeverLostologist
I just received Washburn HB-35. I just played little bit and I like the sound.

I have few pickups to try but I honestly don't know how to change pickups in this guitar. There is no control cavaty cover. Does anyone have any idea?

Re: New Guitar Arrived

The pickups just unscrew....it's when you get to the pots where the whole thing gets a little tricky.

When I did my Sheraton, I used the old "G" string as my fishing line. You just kind of have to hook it around the pot & fish them thru the F-hole. It's not overly hard, but it does require some patience.

Take your time & have fun!!!

BTW......Beautiful guitar! :13:

That is pretty! I'd remove the bridge pickup and see if there's room to fish the controls through THAT hole. It's bigger than the F-holes. If not, then use the F holes... as Terry mentioned. Lew

That's a great idea. I used to have an Ibanez AM-50 back in the 80's. I used dental mirrors to see...

Like Lew said, take the pickups out first. My Sheraton was a semi-hollow, so the block was in the center & the routing under the pickups were minimal.

In your hollow body, they might be bigger & easier to maneuver thru.

She's a beauty!! Can you tell much of a difference in the tuning/intonation with the Buzz Fieten system? Good luck with the pickup change.

Fretfire ... I like your Teen Girl Squad avatar!!

Haha, I forgot all about the Teen Girl Squad, I hadn't even though of that when I made it. Most excellent!

Re: New Guitar Arrived

As others had mentioned, you really have to fish the electronics in there. I used the space where the humbuckers were, that's really the best way to do it (I did it with my Dean Chafin Del Sol).

Re: New Guitar Arrived

If you're just changing the pups, couldn't you just remove the old ones, cut the wires and solder the new pup's wires to the old wires?

Yep, the lazy man's way! That's what I did on my Heritage 535. I left the existing lengths that came on the new pups alone and kinda coiled them up and hid them under. Worked like a charm. Pain in the ass any other way.
