New guitar day ! Only 1 complaint

FedEx driver either fell on top of it, or dropped something heavy onto it. The guitar was strung tight, and zero padding between headstock and V tips. Any weight or pressure would go directly to this joint is my guess.
I watched a few HB unboxing videos and they all said they were packed poorly.
This one is no exception. The top side of the smaller box is ripped out like it took a fall at least once in its trip.

Let us know how they are going to remedy this.

Ouch, nasty!

One other issue I've seen with these guitars when they were released is that the black (seemingly non conductive?) plating on the bridge/tailpiece was so thick that the strings couldn't be earthed. Don't know if this has been fixed, but something to keep in mind.

I took and sent pictures as soon as I opened it up.

I bought it off reverb, so I am supposed to contact the seller which is Harley Benton themselves, and give them 24 hrs to respond.
As of right now they have 6hrs remaining.

Then I will request a full refund through reverb.
Not sure how long of a process that is.

I'm sure I can glue and clamp and it will probably be fine as it seems like a very clean break. But I'm not going to start that until I hear something back. So it's just sitting here in my living room for now.

best scenario is they issue refund and don't request the item back. Then I'll glue it up and play it like I stole it ha ha.

But my guess is they'll want to see some sort of tracking number that is headed back before reverb starts the refund process... I don't think I've ever sent anything back off reverb before so... I'm just guessing.

The satisfaction is healing a broken instrument - hell, I could fix that!
The win in getting your $224 dollars back or whatever. Cheap still costs money.
The awesome fearlessness of not caring what happens to this guitar going forward.
And a great effing story.

Man, there is SO much potential win here!!!

All true.

It's funny you use that word fearlessness, as soon as I saw that guitar on reverb I had the idea to buy it as a beater guitar,

I already ordered (and received) a 100 small nickel furniture tacks and my thought was to stick them in the outlining border of the guitar and then proceed to abuse it until it died! Ala KK downing

So, ya, the fact that it's broken already, doesn't really change my goal whatsoever. I am just waiting to hear back whatever offer they may have.

Dont use the tacks

Get som big pan head screws and bolt it back together

That way the heads wont be ornaments

???
if I keep it. Glue and clamps to fix the break.

...then..... Tacks around the outside on the face of the guitar.
Kind of like KK's

Ibwas thinking the tacks replicate functional screw heads

The tacks actually replicate the leather furniture tacks

Ok carry om

I'd put some big ole bolts in it anyways
