New guitar help..

I am wanting an EVH Wolfgang Special MIM or a Striped series.
Which one should I get or should I get something else? I was gonna buy a new SG but I have 2 Les Pauls that play like butter.

I'm wanting a shredder type.. how is the feel on these on these? Do they play well?
I own an EVH 5150ii amp and I swear I'm not a fanboy tryin to get the Brown Sound. I just like the tone and that Blue channel is where it's at on my Gibsons..
I want something that plays old metal and rock and I wanna be able to dive bomb and practice tapping and shred stuff.
I'm strictly and old school classic rock AC/DC and Skynyrd blues based player but I am wanting to start learning how to sweep and do some of the shredding stuff.

Any help would be appreciated.. Up until now I was a Les Paul into a 808 circuit Tube Screamer and wah into a Marshall kinda guy and play everything from Hey Joe to Mr Brownstone..

I own a USA wolfgang and love it.
Its really about feel. The wolfgang has a slimmer neck with 1 5/8 string spacing, where as the striped series has *a little* bit fatter of a neck and 1 11/16 spacing. The striped obviously is going to have a strat feel with it, where as the wolfgang is going to feel somewhat more like a les paul with the fatter body/carv top.
The only other thing to worry about is if you can live with only having a bridge humbucker, like on the stripped series.
Other than than, they are pretty similar:
-Wolfgang pickups
-Oiled, quartersawn neck
-compound radius....

Yep. . I shred some on my Les Paul. I'm leaning towards a Wolfgang then.
I love the Les Paul feel.

The New Mexican made Wolfgangs have the slightly wider neck- I understand they share the same neck as the Striped, down to jumbo frets.

The Striped - without the carved maple top, has a slightly rawer tone, closer to early Van Halen brown sound.

The Wolfgang is a more versatile guitar than the striped due to the neck pickup. Both guitars can shred.

Unless you wanted the EVH paint scheme go with the Wolfgang. It's a better guitar, with the striped you're paying more for the paint job

Well I got a little bit to make up my mind. Zzounds and AMS are both out of stock on the Wolfgangs, apparently they are pretty popular.
I gotta wait a month, I was gonna buy one Friday.

I guess it really depends on how much you use a neck pickup.

If you're just wanting super strat to experiment with, I would look for a good used Jackson or ESP.
