New heavy rock track from my sons new band The Unguided

Re: New heavy rock track from my sons new band The Unguided

Cool. Power metal meets Gothenburg metal. This is not hard rock!

At this moment that song is only at Spotify. But you can find a lot of The Unguided at Youtube.

The Unguided went through some pretty hefty changes and it makes me sad. I absolutely loved Hell Frost, it's one of my very favorite records and I personally think those are huge footsteps for the a singer to step into.
He does very well.
But I don't personally like it as much as the very first record of the unguided. I just can't bond with Metal that has a lot of electronic things and simple power chord riffs in it, In Flames new record does the same, I hate it. Nevertheless a great accomplishment by your son. The solo is indeed great. A reason to be proud, wishing the best to him.

Thanks Zarg. Well, he has been a permanemt member in The Unguided for just some weeks now. I´m sure he will grow into it.

Like this one. It´s the first video from The Unguided with my son as clean singer so the aim is to show his voice, and therefore no solo here.

The synth intro instantly reminded me of "It's No Good" by Depeche Mode. I liked parts where there was actual singing (be proud of your son), but I wasn't that big of a fan of where the song went around the 1:35 mark. Usually I get turned off by bands that try to mix clean singing and harsh vocals - I'd rather go for one or the other. If it was your son singing the whole song I'd probably be able to enjoy it a lot more.

Thanks. Well, normally I´m not so happy about scream voice. But I saw the band in Weinheim, Germany, some months ago, and suddenly I understood the idea with the blend of clean and scream voices. The tunes often started smooth with clean voice, and then everything went louder and the scream voice came with the chorus. It was very powerful to hear it live, it´s not so nice at CDs. But live it´s very effective.

That's something I haven't considered. I'll keep it in mind for future shows.
