Picked up an Les Paul 60's tribute (I think thats what they call em) a few weeks ago at GC. I got the honey burst which I know quite a few other forum bros have. Out of the bunch I played this one was the most resonant acoustically and had the best top. Score. Haggeled the guy down and got it for a nice price, wasn't really looking for a new guitar but i couldn't pass this up.

I swapped out the bidge pup for a p-90 sized Dimarzio Super Distortion. The combo of bridge humbucker/ neck p-90 is something I've wanted for a while, lots of versatility and the middle position is really something.

If you've got one, show em off. I love comparing the tops on these.

Really nice looking, although that DiMarzio looks a little...too noticeable to my taste.

I bet it sounds good though!

Re: New-ish Les Paul day

I agree, it definately sticks out. Sounds too good to get picky about looks though!

Agreed. At the end of the day I'd rather have a guitar that sounds great and plays really well, than a case queen that looks good sitting on the stand. That said, I think the guitar looks cool, despite the P90SD being a bit obtrusive.

Congrats! :bigthumb:

If they do another variation on the Tribs next year, with the same colors, I think I'll very likely grab a Honeyburst to go with my GT.

Re: New-ish Les Paul day

just realized I was checking out the gold top at wildwood's site. yours looks great too! dig these, and the price seems fair as well.

you don't have your super OD listed in your siggy.

Nice! I've been wanting one, since they first came out. The goldtop is my favorite, and then the honeyburst.

Thats my friends super OD that I was messing around with while i was between dirt boxes. I'm currently rockin out with a Fuchs Plush Cream which is by far the best tubescreamer-esque pedal i've ever owned, and i've had about 5 different versions, from the odd Ibz metal screamer to standard ts-9s, maxon 808s to more boutique variations.

It has the most gain out of any of them (but usable gain, i'd have no problem running this into a clean amp for all my dirt) and the tone knob it great. It adds more cut and clarity without getting harsh or fizzy at any setting.
