New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

Okay, I still haven't decided what color stain to use on this beastie, so I figured I'd go ahead and assemble her and see how she sounds and plays. All I can say is that without Warren's help, this guitar would still be a pipe dream; he helped me with everything from tracking down the wood to re-fretting the neck and lots in between. Pickups are a Duncan C5 and JN cabbaged from my Imperial, wiring will be done next week, but I gotta say, this one sounds plenty good barefoot!

Warren is THE MAN!!!

I'm not really a fan of teles or strats, but super teles are just cool to me. I don't know why. Yours looks cool though.

Dude, you've got to bust out "Girls, Girls, Girls" on this one ...

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

Thought about that back in the pre-build stage, but no way am I painting over that sweet (and hella expensive) flame!!!

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

Not a fan of Tele shapes or Kramers but that looks sweet.

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

What woods are used on the body?? I've got a friend building me a Tele body, and the top is going to be very thick maple, as it appears yours is. I'd be interested to know how bright it sounds acoustically.

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

It's 7/8th's Maple and 7/8th's ash. It is very acoustic sounding and has tons of volume to it. If I put heavier strings on it, it'd almost sound as loud as my taylor!!

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

thats awesome. i would actually think about not staining it. i think the way it looks just now with the zebra buckers, black bridge and natural top is awesome and it would be lost if you added color.

Yeah, my friend is using a 1 piece ash base, with a book-matched maple top. I'll probably just leave mine with an oiled finish to bring out the flame of the maple. I can't wait to see/play it.

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

OK, I have a very valid point why this isn't a Tele.

I really don't care about Teles.
There has been the occasional one that just screamed mojo but none I'd really care about owning.

So, given that this guitar is inducing me ridiculously great amounts of GAS I'd say that this can't possibly be a Tele :9:

Re: New Kramer/SouthEast Guitars pr0n:

Of course it's not a telecaster, it's a TelePacer! :D When I spec'd the body, I told Warren I wanted a dinky-style 7/8th's Pacer Imperial body with the lower horn scoop and the tele-style bump thingy on the top. Warren did the rest. :friday:

Thanks for all the great comments, everybody! :notworthy
