I just bought a new Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top with mini-humbuckers in it. I want to put the Seymour Duncan Joe Bonamassa Signature dual-humbucker set in it. Will they fit? How much of a hastle to make them fit.

Thanks for your help,

Chuck M

The guitar has to be re-routed for normal size humbuckers.

A job to be done by a pro.

You bought the wrong Les Paul.

If you can take it back and buy an LP with full size buckers, if not take it to a pro and get it routed for full size buckers.

It will not fit without permanent modifications. You can do it with a dremel if you so desire but it won't be super clean. Thankfully the rings will cover up rough edges and so on.

The pickup routs in an arched top solid body guitar need to be cut perpendicular to the line of the strings NOT to the flat back of the guitar. Specialist jig required.

If you cannot exchange the LPD for a Standard, consider what qualities of the Bonamassa pair you desire. See whether a hotter pair of minis would do what you require.

Personally, if I were going to have a Goldtop LPD routed, I would want to "Townshend" it.
